My projects strive to depict the present, a moment when we are walking towards a post-human world defined by the constant interaction between all things, living and non-living. I use an expanded curatorial approach, focusing on the social, political and ecological implications of technologies in contemporary society. In this framework, I am interested on the emancipatory potential of contemporary art and art institutions in the post-digital society.
I see my curatorial practice as research mode, an intersection between artistic practices, science and activism whereby exhibitions become spaces that convey new readings of the convoluted realities we cannot fully grasp and futures that we cannot yet see. Collaboration becomes the tone that sets the conversation and the tool that facilitates an ample perspective to look my endeavour.
Currently I am hold a fellowship for emerging researchers at ACC in Gwangju, South Korea. Last year, I was the curator of “This site is under Revolution” at MMOMA Moscow as an strategic project from 6th Moscow Biennale for young art. Previously, I have developed projects in institutions like the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art in Seoul, de Appel arts centre in Amsterdam, Impakt Festival in Utrecht, Marres in Maastricht, Bétonsalon in Paris, and La Casa Encendida in Madrid. Moreover, in Berlin, I co-founded in 2014, the project space Vesselroom Projects. Besides that I work as Art Editor for Fireflies Magazine, and I have published “Authenticity? Observations and artistic practices for the post-digital era” with Valiz in Amsterdam.
I am currently a PhD candidate at the University of Amsterdam with a research focusing on how artists and curators approaching decentralised technologies enable new ways of being political in the post-digital society. Previously, I was a participant of the curatorial programme of de Appel, and hold a BA in Journalism from the Complutense University and a MA in Arts and Culture from the University of Maastricht.
